We helped celebrate the Greek God of Sex's (Dionysus aka Greg Smith) birthday last evening. Great food, friends and even better music. Walrus and Evan Olson provided a stellar night of music...mostly covers, but Evan broke out one my all time favorites of his entitled Shoebox Blues (iTunes link).
Well I spoke to soon. Dad went back into the hospital Monday because of fluid build up in his lungs. Hopefully they will correct everything before they let him go home this time.
It really hurts me to see him in ill health. Probably because since I have been living I have never had to visit him in that environment. I have always thought of my parents as immortal and to see one of them this vulnerable really scares me.
Everything seems right with the world today. I decided not post about my Father's health until he was safe at home. Well much to our surprise that day was today and he is resting comfortably in "his" chair. He returns home after suffering a heart attack and boldly having triple bypass surgery and finally receiving a pacemaker to correct his irregular heartbeat.

Hello everyone. Emma Blake Perkins was born last night at 11:27pm, and she weighed 7lbs. and was 19.25" long. She is healthy and so beautiful. Ashley is doing wonderful, she only had to push for 17 minutes, and as of today she is up walking around. If everything goes as planned we should be home sometime tomorrow.
We love you all and thank you for being so supportive.
More pictures.....
Hey guys, I just wanted to update you on Ashley's status. Earlier today she was have small contractions about 20 minutes apart. This afternoon they were coming about 10-15 minutes apart. She called the doctor and they asked her to come in to be checked. Her exam concluded that she had dilated from a 4 to a 5 in roughly 24 hours, and was 70% effaced. They then sent her to the hospital for the doctor to check her, Dr. Haygood determined that it would be best to break her water.
Well they broke her water around 7:40pm and she got the epideral around 9:15pm after some major contractions. She is now more relaxed. The doctor checked her again at 9:30pm and she is dilated to a 7 and 100% effaced. Should not be to long now. I will keep everyone posted here. I will post pictures as soon as I can.
I must be getting old. Ashley and I decided to do dinner and a movie for our Valentine's date. I expected dinner, which was great by the way, to be rather expensive since we were going to Basil's, but what got my blood boiling was the cost of the movie. Two ticket's to Along Came Polly (not bad, pretty funny but Stiller has done better), was $16. And the killer was $3.50 for a freaking 16oz bottle of Dasani water!! Makes the Airport's concessions look like a Wal-Mart bargain. I must have reached the point in my life were I start talking about the "good old days" when a movie for two, candy, and a coke was $12.
Currently Listening to:
Fool in the Rain (Exclusive Non-Album Track) from the album Fool in the Rain - Single by O.A.R.
Hope everyone had a safe and Happy New Year. We fell in with the majority in the poll (from Macpolls) below by spending last night with our friends John and Dana. I grilled up some nice herford filets (Mad Cow free mind you) and my nearly famous colossal shrimp dish. Ashley served her awesome twice-baked potatoes. Hope to feel better later....too much cabernet, port, and champagne.
We are in Week 11 of our pregnancy. This is the point in which the baby develops from an embryo to a fetus. Ashley's belly is beginning to show much more, and she is still nauseous about every day now. Hopefully when we are out of this first trimester she will be over the sickness. 204 days to go!!
Merry Christmas everyone. I hope Santa was good to you all. I have uploaded some pictures of Chloe's second Christmas. She was so excited this morning when she saw all of her gifts from Santa ;-). I will post more this afternoon.
